"MARIJUANA
AND THE MIND: Can Cannabis Make You Smarter?"

FROM
THE DIRECTOR: “Since
cannabis has had such a profound effect on my psyche, I want to
analyze and understand that mental process. I’m going to ask
scientists exactly what happens inside our brains while we’re
tripping, listening to music, having stony sex, or being creative—all
those things that pot has the potential to improve. Since marijuana
tends to intensify everything, it can make you paranoid if you smoke
too much, but it can also help you write a novel, create a painting,
or imagine a new scientific theory. I will go back in history to see
how famous writers, poets, and painters used cannabis to create their
art. I also want to know why it helps so many people with their
depression. There is amazing work being done by a few brave doctors
who are using cannabis on children who are severely autistic. Its
cannabinoid chemicals appear to have turned some of these kids lives
around. Then there’s the use of cannabis for Post Traumatic
Stress Syndrome and OCD. All issues I’ll cover in my next film,
“Marijuana and the Mind", which asks the question...
“Can
cannabis make your smarter?”
As
soon
as we raise enough funds we will start production on our follow-up
film with the same creative team: Director-writer: Len Richmond.
Editor: Massimo Mazzucco.

INTERVIEWS FOR “MARIJUANA AND THE MIND” (SO FAR):
Dr.
Andrew Weil, a graduate of Harvard
Medical School, is one of the most widely known and
respected alternative medicine gurus. Weil appeared on the
cover of Time
Magazine in 1997 and 2005. Time Magazine also named
him one of the 25 most influential Americans in 1997 and one of the
100 most influential people in the world in 2005.
He
published his first book, The Natural Mind, in 1972. Weil has
since written or co-written nine books, and was a regular contributor
to High
Times magazine from 1975 to 1983. His early works
explored altered states of consciousness, but he has since expanded
his scope to encompass healthy lifestyles and health care in general.

FROM
THE DIRECTOR: I’ve
thought about what the world would be like if everyone smoked pot.
Some of us might get less accomplished, but most of us would be far
less stressed.
If
the whole world smoked pot, I think there’d be fewer conflicts
of ego. We’d see the other person's point of view more easily.
I believe we’d be kinder to one another, because we’d be
happier within ourselves.
These
are all issues which I’ll cover in “Marijuana and the
Mind".
I
truly believe marijuana is a spiritual drug that can help humankind
survive—emotionally and physically. By accident or divine
intervention, cannabis has become a partnership between man and
plant. It’s not the only healing herb on Earth, but as the
scientists in “Marijuana and the Mind” will explain, it’s
the most powerful. Oh yeah, and it makes us laugh a lot. How cool is
that?
